There are several solutions to help you enlarge the space

With homes becoming more and more compact, one of the big concerns, which has arisen, is how to manage to enlarge small spaces. There are actually a few tips, which, when put into practice, change the total feel of a space. And these solutions are for small apartments as well as for partitions that can sometimes have difficulty knowing how to make use of.

There are several solutions to help expand space, and one of the best known is the use of mirrors. This material, besides reflecting the environment, can also have a bronze or gray tone, which, in my opinion, makes everything more sophisticated.

Nevertheless, this strategy is far from being unique. When we are faced with environments with smaller dimensions, we should always give preference to light shades, from the floor that is chosen, to the color of the walls and ceilings. These choices help not only to enlarge, but also to add lightness.

Personally, I like to paint walls and ceilings the same color; this way I reduce visual noise and make the environment more uniform. However, lately we have also seen the use of the same material on the floor and walls, sometimes even on the ceiling as well. In this case, we give up the baseboards to allow continuity without interruptions.

If we combine homogeneous materials and colors with mirror, we are guaranteed to get much more interesting environments. Afterwards, and in order to avoid a monotonous scenario, invest in tone on tone, i.e., light screens on walls.

Another intention, which has been increasingly applied and helps a lot to expand spaces, is the use of glass partitions with minimalist frames.

The choice of furniture should also be careful and judicious. In the case of a living room, I recommend not opting for a large-scale sofa; take a look at those that rise from the floor. This small detail will let the space breathe. Coffee and dining tables I recommend glass, lighter marbles, wood, and in the case of side tables, you can still opt for a mirror. The chairs, in the case of dining tables, if they have some kind of opening in the back or arms, the better! The bookshelves should be hollow, bottomless.

As for the light fixtures, their scale should be taken into account, and in this type of space elegant pieces should be prioritized… this is fundamental. The curtains are another important element; they should be in the same shade as the walls and ceilings, with the goal of standardizing and reducing, once again, visual noise. Very important is that they always go from the ceiling to the floor.

As for the carpets, you can perfectly play with the color, but I advise you to always select lighter colors. This does not mean that dark colors in this type of environment are out of the question. In fact, they can and should be used, if only to create contrasts, but preferably in decorative accents or accessories such as books, pillows, blankets, candles, lighting, or objects.

Now that you know, just put all these tips into practice. Good luck!
